"We think that we are the cutting edge of the church not the outer fringe. We are the "shock troops" of the church the Green Berets uniquely suited and trained to lead the laity forward into action. Many of us are dual-professionals. Many of us serve in key business positions in positions of great influence and power in our communities. It is funny how so many of us are highly regarded in the communities and congregations we serve and yet are looked upon as suspect or of questionable value by our colleagues in the clerical order. Perhaps this is the lot of prophets but it strikes us as being terrible stewardship to ignore our prophetic voice."
"As worker-priests we know that we have an ancient vision for the Church that is as timely today as it was for St. Paul. And yet as we look around us at the current state of disarray in our Church we are reminded of the old proverb where there is no vision, the people perish. We can bring to the table two immediate successes: our ongoing concrete "research" of a spirituality of work for our time; and secondly the ability to give direct teaching and an informing influence of work and the marketplace to both the hierarchy and our people."
