CDSP will offer one online course for academic credit in Spring 2004.

"OT 2612 The Writings of the Hebrew Bible

Required pre-course module Jan 19 to Feb 1
Class begins week of Feb 2

Enrollment limit: 24.
Goals for this course include reading through the books that comprise the Writings the third part of the canon of the Hebrew Bible in their historical literary and social context. Additionally students will become familiar with a variety of methods of biblical exegesis and scholarly resources including those available on the internet. Assignments will consist of weekly readings from the bible and secondary readings plus online discussion. Four short exegetically based projects and a final paper are required." [Quote]

CDSP also has non-credit internet offerings: its CALL program -

"CALL offers 7-week non-credit courses throughout the year. Participants may obtain two CEU’s per course. All you need to participate fully in a CALL online class is internet access and the ability to receive and send email. Each course is conducted on a user-friendly website. CALL online courses consist of a syllabus with weekly readings commentary by the instructor and online discussion among the participants and instructor. You participate in the class at your convenience by going online day or night. The 10-person minimum enrollment per class ensures dynamic group discussion.

Anglican Study Series
This is a series of six courses intended to provide the Anglican perspective on ministry liturgy church history theology ethics and Scripture. Three courses are offered each year and a certificate of completion is awarded to participants who complete the entire roster of courses. ... Coming in 2004-2005 are: Theology in the Anglican Tradition; Ethics in the Anglican Tradition and Scripture in the Anglican Tradition.

Pastoral Care Series
This is a new series of courses designed as a resource for parishes involved in total ministry those preparing for Canon 9 ordination and new clergy. Pastoral care is an important and integral part of parish ministry and the courses in these series will address broad topics like family systems illness healing the role of ritual and liturgy in pastoral care preparation for marriage mental illness death and the grieving process....

Classes in Spanish
CALL is pleased to announce two courses in the Anglican Study series will be offered in Spanish in Spring 2004. Classes in the Book of Common Prayer and Anglican Church History will be taught in Spanish at the same time the courses are taught in English. The instructors have adapted the syllabi for these courses to reflect special concerns for the Hispanic church." [Quote]
